Race event of the year!
#1
Some of you folks may have heard of the Blackwater 100. ESPN covered this race for years. They called it America's Toughest race. Before The DNR and the tree huggers put an end to it.It is run in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. These Mountains are some of the roughest terrain in the east.
Well Koontz Motor Sports, the racing league that my son races in is going to have a huge race event. It will be in the same area as the old Blackwater race. If anyone likes to race XC races then this is the race to enter. It will be a pre -entery race. They will only be taking 200 quads, 200 bikes and 100 youth riders. Just think 500 riders. It will be the weekend of July 18-19.
To get a pre-entery form just log on to www.Koontzadventures.com. This racing series has the largest turn out of youth riders in the east. We useally have about 100 youth riders on both quads abd bikes. They are from 4 yrs old to 15 yrs old. And there so many different classes for them to race.We useally have about 10 riders in the 4-6 50 cc open class and about 16 in the 7-13 yr old classes. Check it out the kids will have a blast. Plus I would love to race with some of you all.

Cross Country racing is somewhat like harescrambles. But more woods, creek crossings, extreme hill climbs, down hills and lots of mud. Ever been to a GNCC National? Just like that. The big boys race for 2 hrs. the youth race for a half hour. They race against the clock. Computer check points. He who makes the most laps in the time limit wins. They pay cash to the top pro riders and plaques to the top finishers in each class. The youth get plaques. No practice just line them up and run it till the finish. The entry fee is $25 for adults and $20 for youth.
EXriders.com has been covering our races. They have some great pictures. Go to message board and click on Race coverage. Look for Koontzadventures races. They cover both adult and youth events.Rider #838 in the 50 cc quad class is my son. He's the points leader.Check out the pictures.

The money I spend on his quads and bikes seems like a $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ bucks.
The money I spend on race fees and maintenance seems like a $$$$$$$$$$$ bucks.
The smile on his face after he smokes the whole field in a race PRICELESS!
