Predator 90 MOdifications
#1
Hi All,
I just purchased a 2005 Predator (with reverse!), for my son. He is already complaining about the lack of power.
Can anyone give me constructive and knowledgeable advise on where and what could be done to add power, without compromizing reliability? Preferrably bolt-on power.
It winds out to about 28 mph, and takes a while to get there. I am only looking for a quicker out of the gate 'run' to its top-end, and maybe about 5-7 mph faster in speed.
Please any ideas would be great...
Thanks in advance...

Since your Pred-90 is so new, you may want to give it a little more time before holding it wide open. Every brand needs a little break-in time. Also, all engines loosen up after their break in time is over. Not much faster but a little faster.
For recommened "bolt on" mods for your unique riding conditions, you may want to contact Billy Holt at WRH Racing. His kid races Pred-90s and has always been "on target" for the unique upgrade for our Pred-90. His contact details are: billy.holt@wrhracing.com
Hope this helps...

Thanks for the advise!
We did break it in before really testing it. I used a GPS to verify its speed.
But before 'opening' it up. I ran 4 tanks of a weak mix 100/1 fuel throught it, along with the oil injection.
I wanted to make sure of the initial break-in, therefore adding a bit of mix right into the tank.
Now, running clean fuel, the results posted are what I am trying to improve on...
Thanks!!!

Excellent break in approach. Your 100:1 for 4 tanks of gas sounds much better then our factory 50:1 for the 1st tank of gas. Sounds like a much smooth break-in approach.... Good luck with your future upgrades....

Probably the best thing would be a pipe, remove the air box and run a K&N or Uni , Probably have to rejet also. And maybe some clutch work. You could call Jason at Hardrock Motorsports also. Im not sure if anybody has developed a pipe for the new Pred with reverse
