Been reading the posts, looking for a couple quads for my girls, ages 6 1/2 and 10, both would be brand new to ATVs. I was going to internet order from FamilyGoCarts or Raceway - cheaper and no tax, but like the idea of PepBoys being right up the street if I have a problem. It's hard for me to figure out exactly what size these are without actually seeing them. You think the Baja 90 would be too big for 6 1/2? Does PepBoys support these products?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hey just joined to ask everyone a question. I saw that baja 90cc at candian tire here in ontario and am wondering if you guys would recomend it for a 15 year old who is 170 lbs. Im going to use it at my cottage just going up and down fairly steep hills and stuff not rough terrain just gravel road. Do you think this thing will do the job for me? thanks in advance

Hey ryanatvteen! I had mine out at Kenosee Lake this summer. I weigh 190 and 6foot tall. Long steep hills were slow going. Its a good quad for steep short hills that you can make a run at. The roads were rough and gravelled though which slows you down. Don't expect miracles from a little 90cc miniquad. But it was still fun out there. I found a cool sand pit and it ripped through the sand great. I almost rolled it more than a few times. heh heh. When you remove the resitrictor plug - there isn't anymore power or low end grunt than when its plugged in. Unplugging it just allows you to rev the engine and get more top end speed.

man thats too bad, the place where im driving it has alot of hills, and it would suck if I went throught everything to by it and it didnt work good. Let me see if I can find a picture on the net similiar to the hills that I would be driving on and then i'll post it.

Here's a pic:

This one, at least my quad anyway, would have a hard time making it to the top. I would be crawling by the time I reachedd the top.
My quad would be fine probably half way up - taking a strong run at it mind you.
The smoother the road surface makes a big difference.
Oh - another thing I found made a substantial difference on mine - use the highest octane fuel you can get. I noticed a difference going uphill when I went from 87 octane to 91. I usually take the two kids with me (one sitting in front 35lbs, me 190lbs and my other behind me 35lbs) and we had a hard time climbing a long uphill trail (aprox half the grade as the picture) - when I switched to the higher octane it did actually excellerate slightly during the climb on the same hill.

Well, the hills i'll be going up wont be that long but they will be alot steeper. I'd say the hills I would be driving over are maybe 20-25 feet long 30 max. If I went at it hard enough you think I could get up?

Thought you all might like some interesting information. I had a problem with one of our two 90s and contacted Baja on 11/10. They told me to fax the information with bike VIN id, etc. so I did this on 11/10. They told me that they would take care of it in 1 to 2 business days. I have been pestering the crap out of the folks at Baja since about a week after I sent the information because I had not heard from them. I got tossed around a bit and had to make a few phone calls over the weeks. In the time this was all happening they were moving to a new location so systems were down, etc. so I wasn't getting anywhere. As it turns out, I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Rick on 11/30 and he promised to look into it and gave me his direct number to call for future issues. I received a phone call from Laura at Baja on 12/1 and she told me that they had sent the work order to my local repair shop on 11/15. I guess the deal is the repair shop is to call the owner and arrange to have the unit brought in. Unfortunately this shop did not do this back then because they did not have room for my ATV. I am bringing it in tomorrow after raising a stink today. Here I am thinking that Baja dropped the ball but they did not. The repair shop fessed up to having the work order sent to them before 11/15. Keep this in mind if you have an issue. Find out which repair shop will be getting the work order and contact them to make sure that they don't screw things up.
