Default Arctic Cat 90..

Ok I would like more speed from this thing.Ive removed all the restrictors that I could find(variator only) ,I checked the carb and the exhaust,no restrictors..This is a 4 stroke bike...Ive thought of getting a 31 tooth sprocket and maybe a different variator..I still want all the bottom end just more on top...Any help locating these piece would be appreciated...Right now the bike will only get up to 23mph with me on it,,,Thanks Roger

As for the top speed. 23 mph is pretty fast for a stock 4 stroke. Does the cat have a 50 tooth rear sprocket like the 2 stroke? If it does a 35 tooth sprocket from sprocket specialists will increase top speed if the bike will pull it. Look to see if your sprocket and hub has a 4 bolt hub,if it does sprocket specs sprockets listed for a bombardier ds 90 will work as they dont list sprockets for A/Cs. as for a variator be sure which one you get so it will work. If at rest your belt sits low on front variator/clutch meaning if the belt runs nearly on the crankshaft a perf variator will help a bunch in all ranges. If it runs up off the crank like it should a var will only increase perf a little save your money for your next trip or a clutch kit. We have raced a cat 90 2 stroke for 3 yrs now and the 4 strokes look like good lil bikes good luck.If you have probs finding the right parts let me know. Try WRH racing and Hetrick racing. A $50 to $75 clutch kit would be on my list. A variator should be about $125 to $160

Noslo look up sprocket specialists on the web. On the 2 stroke anyway the 50 was too small IMO they can make you a 40, or 42 that should get you a few MPh. And TK did you do the $3 mainjet jet and exhaust mod that gives you about double the HP on the 2 stroke stock?

Fastestdad No but I did have my mech remove everything limiting the speed. For you guys with the A/C 90's I did buy a Raptor 90 skid plate and replaced the cheap spocket guard that came with it. Two trips to St. Joe, I kept bending it back off of the spocket. Fastestdad what do I need to do with that jetting and exhaust to make it faster for 3 dollars. Nothing has cost 3 dollars on any of my atv's.

You should be the same elevation as us so jetting should be the same and you cannot run in stock class if racing. OK that said... The stock exhaust end cap has a little pipe inside a larger pipe. Grind out the small pencil sized one and you still have a nice stock looking end cap with a 1" or so outlet pipe. Replace the 77.5 mainjet in the carb with a 82.5(up 2 sizes) and you'r done. Do not do the endcap without jetting up as I said. Total cost about $3-$5 and your labor. This mod alone saved me from scrapping our 90cc cats about 3 years ago. It makes all the difference in the world on the cat 90s pulls hills like a champ, ride wheelies for 30 feet. If you do it you'll thank me, much better bike. Fastestdad
