Yes, and the nice thing about eton (beside hydraulic rear brake) is the cdi can be adjusted down so that the engine cuts out if it's going too fast. Good feature for a beginner. It doesn't have to be replaced with mods either.

Go with the 50. Anything more is too much, and you can always get your money out of it selling it yourself.

I do know that they have the remote kill switch that you can have installed on the 70 Eton, but I am not sure how far they are able to be mechanically safe throttled down. My daughter is mature in mind for 4 years old and tall in size, but weight is only around 40 lbs.

I'd be the first to admit I didn't feel like mine was ready at 4. But with the adjustable cdi, I just don't think it'll matter very much if at all. The 70 may come with a slightly larger tire though giving a hair more speed. Not sure.

.

I'm a firm believer in body fit & riding experience first.

Hence my previous statement.... As a suggestion, try to focus on "body fit" as your main checklist. A little too big this year, perfect fit next year and a little too small the year after. Hence, 3 year expected life span of the mini. After body fit, focus on driver control & safety features.

If a 50 is the proper body fit, then go with a 50. If 70 is a body fit, then go with the 70. Regardless of 50 or 70, one is expected to "throttle down" to the rider's skill level. This is a given even for adult riders with their big utility ATVs.

Personally, I wouldn't put a 4 year old on a mini. In my family, its age 8+. To me, even some 8+ year olds should never be allowed even near a motorized anything. They don't have the maturity to understand speed, brakes and forward thinking. Age age 4, my kids often ran across the street without looking. If your kid does this too (or other stupid things), then age 4 is way too young to be on any motorized anything. Something to think about....

I actually never even thought about getting her a quad until I saw her ride my niece's Suzuki 50 and my neice is 2 yrs older than my daughter and has had her quad for 2 years. The first year I know will be just following her around and teaching her and the next year supervising and then hopefully the third year we are hoping to go riding as a family on each of our own quads. My thought with the 70 was also that it had a good weight limit that would even eventually able me to ride behind her and teach that way as well. I will honestly say that she is a very good listener and listens actually much better than my niece.

You might consider getting a set of wireless radios that you attach to her helmet and it allows you to talk into her ear as she rides. The one I am familiar with is called a chatterbox...You can get a handheld device, or a set of headphones for yourself, and then later when you ride with her, convert it to your helmet.. so you can always be in touch with her. Some models have a range of over a mile... Just in case she gets out of your sight.
