Sunl 90 observations
#1
Picked up a Sunl 90 for my daughter a few weeks ago. We already had a Sunl 50/55/70 (whatever) for my son. It's the same bike exactly but larger engine. Now that I've had it a few weeks I thought I'd post a few observations.
-This quad doesn't have the chain sprocket alignment problems that the 50 had, but then again, I did immediately add an engine brace to reduce engine movement.
-It's fast, really fast. I can easily pull a wheely on it just pulling up slightly and hitting the throttle in 2nd gear.
-The exhaust was rattling against the frame in the rear so had to add 2 washers to the rear mounting point to fix that.
-This quad had the steering limiting post. Cut it off and now the turning radius is about like the other.
-Changed the oil today and there are 2 very annoying problems with both the Sunls.
1-There are two bolts on the bottom of the engine that look like the oil drain plugs, and I never can remember which one is the drain, and which one has the spring loaded oil pump behind it that shoots out when you unscrew it and is a pain to get back in.
2-The oil drain, the real correct one, hits the exhaust pipe as you unscrew it. I actually had to disconnect the exhaust at the rear to make room for the drain plug, very strange.
Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. I think I ride it as much as my daughter does, it's just fun to put around on.

Hey Kazooma,
I'm brand new here and joined becuase I've been researching small quads for my son over the past 6 months. I'm interested in RaceWays XL mini 90 and/or mini 95. These look like SUNL. Are they? You also mention gearing. These say they are fully auto. Does anyond know the difference between the 90 and the 95? I would prefer semi-auto. Any pros or cons from anyone?
thank you for your input.

I got the engine braces from Redcat. The peice that clamps to the frame quickly broke and I replaced it with a U bolt and plate. If you have last year's model, it's a must.
Both of mine are 4 speed, auto clutch. I would not want to be limited to one gear, makes no sense.
Yes the Raceways are Sunl's best I can tell.

SnatchBadgeR....We just purchased the sunL 90 (mini) from Raceway ATV. We are very pleased with what we got. My husband ran into a few issue while putting it together but Raceway was more than happy to try to help us, even though it was a weekend! I read a few helpful threads ("Kazuma Falcon 110 First impression/Review" and "Kazuma 90 first impressions and mods) and decided on the sunL. Oh, in case you didn't already catch that---the one Raceway has is a sunL. They seem to have a good reputation, as I'm sure the Kazuma's do too. We just decided that the sunL was a better purchase...for us. My husband DID change the oil, which has been suggested here several times. Also, it had trouble starting at first but I think he figured out that the fuel line was on backwards...or something silly along those lines. The brakes had to be bled before they would work. My son absolutely LOVES it!!!!!! I don't know anything about the 95 but the mini 90 that we have is Totally automatic. We would have preferred the semi-auto but this one is fine for now. You can't beat what you get for the price. I definitely recommend Raceway. Their prices are awesome as well. I've also seen lots of good things about Kidatvs as well. If you have the money, go ahead and invest in the real deal....Honda. But....if you are just looking for an inexpensive way to get into it and want to wait for the higher priced stuff...go for the sunL. Good luck in your search.
