KFX80 no start, what next?
#1
Started up right away and ran fine yesterday, but today it's completely dead. Battery is good, fuse is good, all the connections seem good, so does anyone have an idea of what to look at next?

hi..is it turning over...if not there is a thermal fuse on the main feed that may need reseting..is the solonoid clicking.if not then perhaps the footbrake interlock isn't working...try carefully shorting out the solonoid's fat wires to see if you can get it to turn over.

Thanks moonshiner, no click, no sound, nothing. I have an ohm meter and tested the footbrake switch, it's good. All the switches are good. Where is that thermal fuse? I have the service manual but still can't find it. Shorting the solenoid? How to carefully do that? Appreciate the advice. By the way, I once had a girfriend from New Zealand, and got an invite to live with her down there. Too much committment for me at the time but I still plan on getting there one day and try for some record sized striped marlin.

if you follow the fat red wire from the battery I think it will go into a small black box at the tail off the bike.this has a press reset on the side..to carefully short out the solonoide you just need to be carefull not to touch your shorting tool onto a ground point. New zealands a great place ..your all welcome to come on down and explore our middle earth.
