Don't know about the Yamoto but there were in fact some 2-speed auto scooters made in years past.

Good find. You got me on that one. I'm curious on how it automatically changes, but I new it wasn't CVT by the style of the engine. Time to check out the books again, for I love finding out how things tick.

Not sure. Used to have a Yamaha scooter like that when I was a kid. Never tore into it. It was a solid trouble-free engine and tranny. And I abused the heck out of it. Can't say the same for the cvt's.

 

As I mentioned before, I believe It has a centrifigal clutch, like a go-cart.

 

Like I said, I'm not that familiar with Yamoto. Lot of go-carts have torque converters or cvts, but I know what you're saying. Like a Kawasuki POS-50.

 

Heres the scoop, just got off the phone with John (very nice guy). It is a SunL the pics are correct but the URl at the top says Yamoto because they just reused the Yamoto page. I'm wondering, and seriously doubting, whether or not the SunL is Green Sticker compliant in California??

 

Im am so glad i don't have that problem, the only sticker problem i have is where to put em on the quad. Give John a call he will go out of his way to help.
