Both quads turned out really great, the suspension is very soft and has a little over 6" of travel. I also made the machines 3" wider. If any body knows how to attach picts let me know so i show what i did.
Pics can't be attached to a post(YET!!!) You can download them to your own gallery if you make a BIO/Pic page.

1- Remove intake and exhaust restrictor
2- Remove piggy back jet from the carb
3- disconnect the oil auto injector line and run 40:1 premix

Just these 3 things alone will make a "HUGE" difference

Email me when your ready and I can walk you through them....

I also put wheel spacers ($40) on the front to add stability along with snow hogs on Douglas Rims ($200 total)

You son will be a very happy boy this holiday!!!

i just bought my daughter a used 03 lt50. i didnt get the owners manual or anything.
can you explain these 3 things your talking about?
where are the intake and exhaust restricters located exactly?
where about on the carb is the piggyback jet?once removed will i have to mod anything else?
the only injector remove is pretty pretty obvious to me.

I just got done removing all the restriction on my daughters KFX50 and what a diffrence it made, I order an airfilter and jet kit from CT racing and it already has an FMF pipe which sounds really good and also made a nice diffrence. I may be taking the head to a local shop around here so they can do the milling and porting for me.

Ford780, tell us more about exactly what you did. What changes did you make front and rear, and what sort of cost was involved? I can imagine that 6"+ of suspension travel plus some added power would really make a little LT/KFX an awesome kid's quad!

In the rear all i did was use spacers to get the width, but for the travel i removed the rear shock and watched the chain angle under both extremes, then measured the shock lenth i wanted. In the front i didn't want to use spacers because it makes the steering harder to controll under bumps and other situations so i pulled the arms off and added some lenth to them simply by making a few tabs that went below the original pivots, then i decided to box it in for strenth and the new steering stop. I also had to make the tie rods longer and i did this by using some stock yfz450 rods and cutting them about 4" long, cutting the original lt rods in half sticking them in and tacking them in the yfz rods. Typing all this out is making it sound like a big deal but it really wasn't. The only real cost involved was the shocks the fronts were 300.00 and the rear was 250.00. i allready had the YFZ stock rods from putting aftermarket one on my quad. Just making the machine wider in the front really helped out put alot more leverage on the stock shocks but didn't really do any thing for the travel. i just got tired of seeing my kids get beat up at the sand dunes or this little local track we have.

BullDog where did you get your spacers at $40.00? I can't seem to find any under $60.00.

Found them on EBay for $40 plus shipping....You will only need 1 set if you change the front/tire rims set up to the Douglas wheels with the snow hogs...the offset gives you a much wider front stance, so just use the spacers on the back....

It is like $100 for the tire/rim set at Recreationtire.com and about $50 delivered for just the spacers.....For the extra $50 it much better to buy the tire/rim set. IMO

I put the 18" snow hogs on the front and the 16" snow hogs on the back...this tire pattern is very close to Holeshot MXR4....

With the spacers on the rear and the offset front rims the quad is very very stable

First off my post was wrong...The spacers are on the rear only...not the front...used offset rims to widen the front...see my other post on this thread about that.

1- Exhaust Restrictor- Remove the exhaust pipe from the cylinder and there is a washer in there...just pull it out and bolt the exhaust back up
2-Intake Restrictor- In the arm that is between the carb and the cylinder....On the side that goes to the cylinder you will a thick spacer in the end with a thin slit.....Use a screwdriver to try to turn it until comes out..many have to use a torch to heat the spacer up to get it to turn...maybe you will be lucky and not need to....
3-Carb Piggy back jet----Flip the carb upside down, remove the bowl cover....you will see the main jet directly in the center..then right next to it you will see a very small opening where the pilot jet resides.....remove the jet in that hole...it is about 3/16" big.....the pilot jet will still lbe in it's place once this piggyback/restrictor jet is removed)

You may also have to move the needle clip to the very top notch once you start making mods (I run it at the top position)
