2006 Arctic Cat DVX 50 limiters
#1
I have a 2006 AC DVX 50 and I need help removing the limiters from the stock ATV. I know that the previous years had a carb limiter and a clutch limiter. I have the instructions from removing them on the previous years, but the carb has completely changed and I was told this limiter is no longer used. This ATV is running MUCH slower than I know it can go. Are there any suggestions I can do to this 2006 model to make it run faster. It sounds like it has a rev limiter at full throttle and the throttle limiter adjustment is all the way open. One dealer told me that the limiters were electronic and there was nothing that I could do, I am just not buying that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 06 mini's are 4 stroke right. My son races an 04 Cat. You have a rev limiter in the cdi box. We had to change out the cdi box. Also on the clutch variator there is a (wedding band) looking washer in between the 2 pully halves. This will not allow the pullys to go together to make the belt run higher on the pullys to hit top end speed. I don't think you will get much power and speed out of the 4 stroke 50cc engine. But this will help. I put a ton of $$$$$$$$ into ours and it will fly now!

I have the directions for doing the carb and clutch mods, but when I compared my carb to the one on the directions, it has completely different. I took it off and looked for any kind of limiter ring, but could not find one. I have yet to check the clutch, but I am skeptical that the 06 has that one also. One dealer said the factory said all limitation was done electronically in the '06. At first I was skeptical of the 4 stroke, but seeing it on the trail, I am impressed with the power and as far as speed, I am not looking to race it, I just want to speed it up a little. At full throttle I can tell that there is some sort of rev limiter and I believe removing that would give me the little extra speed that I am looking for.

I had to change out the cdi box. It has the revlimiter built into it. Some have a wire to cut but ours had to be replaced. The 06 may have a different kind. Did you talk to the mechanic at the dealer you bought the mini from. You will be impressed with that mini. Ours has been a VERY good mini.

My dealer did not know anything about the smaller ATV's, but I have been working with Jay at Mar-Cel Co Inc. In Clinton, NC (910) 592-7796 (Plug because he had been so helpful). He mentioned the cutting a wire in the CDI box, but I not the kind to just start cutting wires. How do I know which one to cut? Do you know of any diagrams or detailed descriptions on doing this? Where did you get your replacement CDI? And was it a replacement specifically for taking out the rev limiter or did you cut the wire on the new one? The problem I think I may have is finding parts for the 2006 model because it's fairly new. I feel that the CDI box may be the part that has the solution to my problem though. Thanks for the help, you seem to be the goto person for any information on the AC 50's.

The 2 stroke cdi will not work on a 4 stroke. The 50cc mini can be helped with a clutch kit and a fmf shorty muffler and carb rejetting up about 2 sizes on the mainjet. I dont believe the 06 4 stroke has a revlimiter. If it does it will bounce off the limiter as though its got a bad coilwire.Rich Hetrick (Hetrick Racing) was working on some mods for the 4 strokes like cams, carb, exhaust etc. Hope this helps.

Do you know where I can get the clutch kit and the FMF Shorty. I looked and I cannot find where they make the FMF shorty for the 2006 Arctic Cat DVX 50, so you know where I can find one or will it have to be modded? In your opinion how much difference will each mod make. The carb bore, the muffler and the clutch. I am not looking at making this mini a racing mini (yet) but I would like to get the most bang for my buck and increase the speed.

I have just bought an arctic cat dvx 50 2006 model on Sat April 29th 2006. Today is sunday april 30th, and the electric start just went out, and we tried using the kick start to get it going which worked fine. My mom followed my daughter for a while, then tried to kick it by using a little throttle while kicking, now it won't start period. It is going back to the dealer tomorrow, monday may 1 to get fixed. Anybody have any problems with them?

Hello All!
Are the DVX 50 2006 and LTZ 50 2006 Suzuki the the same bike??? The 2006 Suzuki my Son has sure seems like it has a Rev limiter... But I don't know how to get past it... I have already taken care of the spacer on the CVT and that gave him about 17 to 18 MPH with no other mods.
If anyone has any additional info on this thing I would sure like to hear it, or at least a link to were to find more...
Thanks,
Hibrass
