skiipsquadracer,
Welcome to the forums.
I can tell you a little about chinese atv's, where to and where not to buy them from. The 50cc atv will be too small for your 7yo. I would rec a 70-90cc. My son is 7 and he drives a 110 and the size fits him perfect. As for Ebay sales I would not go through them to buy an atv because many of those companies will not give you any support after the sale. You need the support no matter what or you will be stuck with a pile of crap and no way to get parts. Granted there are a few people on ebay that are legit and wont keep you hanging but they are hard to find. If you dont want to spend $2500 on a name brand but want something reliable then look at Raceway atv. John is the owner and he has been in the business for a long time. The customer service is good and he will take care of you one way or another. He has the kmx50 reliable but is a little small. The 70cc will be a little bigger. He has a 90cc Desert cat (very reliable) that is a really good atv. The Desert Cat is up there with the bigger names but about $1000 cheaper. Look at what he has and speek to him. He can direct you in the right direction. You can read alot of these posts and find out that most internet sales are not reliable at all. Raceway is here and has been here for a while. I and many others have had good luck with them. They have even taken care of people that got stiffed from other companies. He is there to help. Most of these chinese atv's are made by the same company but it all comes down to customer service.

I bought my 4 year old an Eton Viper 70 from www.anythingatv.com and I have heard good things about site sponser www.racewayatv.com

The eaton viper is a great atv and i have heard good things about anythingatv.com also. But like I said they are few and far between to find a good dealer. Do the research and try not to save a buck with the cheapest dealer on the net.

I read where Eton outsold Honda and Suzuki (minis) last year. It would get my vote between the 2.

I bought my 7 year old son an 06 Honda 90. Sure I paid more than most want to pay for an atv for their kids but then I look at the Honda's resale value. Around here, you can't touch a decent Honda 90 for less than 1000 dollars, if you can even find one for sale!
I bought the 90 because of Honda's reputation for relaibility in that little gem of an engine that's been around a long time.

I checked out www.anythingatv.com, for the prices they charge you could buy a brand new Suzuki lt90 from a local dealer! Heard an advertisement here for a Lt50 for $1400.

LT90, huh? And please don't compare the lt50 to the Eton 70. They are in different leagues.
But I do agree that anythingatv seems pricey. Think you could find a better deal. Personally, I'd buy a Unison or GPX for anything but mud.
