Christmas Present Q - How slow can u make them go?
#1
I am looking to buy a Predator 50, Raptor 50, or a KFX 50 for my 5 year old son for Christmas. In reading alot of reviews it looks like everyone keeps asking how to make them go faster but no one mentions how slow you can make them go. My son has been driving an electric Polaris with top speeds of 5 mph since he was 3 and i am certain he would handle the 50cc with ease, but the safety conscious in me is concerned about the speed. Anyways, I want to move him up to the 50cc but want to know how low can you limit the speed on these three ATVs. Thanks.

Well, I am looking into the pred 90 and I was told that there is a set screw on the throttle that you can adjust for the speed, also there is a govenor on it too. Also safety features that there is a teather rope that is you were behind that atv and they are going to fast or no listening you can pull the rope and will stall out the atv. They also have the same feature that can be velcroed to their wrist so if they fall off they atv will also shut off.

on the handle bar their's a screw on the thottle, turn it in and the thottle can't open, can make it run as slow as you want. look at the sunl 90cc great little quad for the price. same size as the 50cc but a little larger motor and you can adjust the speed so that shouldn't be a problem, the thing is kids outgrow the 50's real quick, also its a automatic.

i meant the sunl 90 is a automatic, the kazuma 50 is a 4 speed semiautomatic and it's real hard to train a 4-5 year old how to shift it, so i'm all for the automatic trans for a 4-10 year olds, makes them have a lot more fun, just gas it and go, we just received the 90 sunl from raceway today,it's looks to be a lot differance than the sunl 70cc, the swing arm is boxed, the 70 is just round tubing, thats just one thing, their's more. i kinda wished now i just brought two 90's,

cant go wrong with the pred 90. my kids are a little older, so I took all the limiters out the first day. I was looking at the pred 90 but went with the sportsman 90. Thats the one my kids choose. I thought for sure they would go with the pred but they didnt. now after a few first rides I was glad that they didnt. The racks came in handy for them and the fenders really keeps the mud and crud off of the legs. Also that little engine gets hot in the summer and that extra plastic on the side helps protect there legs. The pred is open on the sides. Either way its been a great machine. Only thing that went wrong with it was the horn stoped working. I took it in and they called me to pick it up the next day. This year theve added daytime running lights. Thats cool. I wish someone would post picks of there pred or sportsman with he daytime lights on.
I think I'll start a thread and ask someone to do that.
