i completely understand that raceway, but base on my experience and reading posts from other people on this forum and other forums like buggynews, i think its best to run from sunl imports, it's a shame too because i and grandkids really liked the sunl 70,90 and the mini 100 delux, but like everone else, we learned the hard way, so now i have a hard stand against sunl group and their employees, i say employees because if they know how the sunl group operates and still work there to me they condone the sunl group actions. no ethics or integrity,

I'm gonna have to thoroughly agree with bill2099 on this one.
SUNL has a long dismal track record.

Over the past couple of years SUNL imported and sold alot of poorly manufactured low quality
ATV's, dirtbikes and go karts. They did let ANY and EVERYONE become a dealer and sell their
products at flea markets, street corners, online, EBAY, used car lots, etc. Shady SUNL
dealers came and went. Lot of people were stuck with a useless SUNL product that they
couldn't get parts or warranty support for and the SUNL Group didn't lift a finger to help.

So now all of a sudden SUNL supposedly has had a change of heart, changes their dealer
policies, and now wants to start supplying parts, honoring warranties, and start being nice.
Here's the reason why:

In Texas...TXDOT (TX Department of Transportation) and the TX State Attorney general got
flooded with consumer complaints about companies and dealers not honoring warranties or
supplying parts, so the politicians stepped in. Now as of Jan 1, 2006 you have to have a
dealer's license to sell/distribute ATV's and dirt bikes, and to get that license you must
have a permanent physical location where THEY CAN FIND YOU! The first thing they ask you on
the application is if you have a service bay. NO SERVICE BAY....NO LICENSE. And if you as a
dealer/distributor start getting warranty complaints....TEXAS WILL PULL YOUR LICENSE. Texas
has also amended their lemon laws to include ATV's. Bottom line....if you sell a motorized
vehicle in Texas, you better be able to service it and provide parts.

So the real reason SUNL has changed their dealer, warranty, and parts policy is because THEY
HAD TO or they would be out of business in the state of Texas where they are located.

Now I do salute you guys at RACEWAY ATV. If all of SUNL's dealers were like you, we wouldn't
be having this discussion. Instead SUNL has dealers like this with an UNSATISFACTORY BBB
rating and 46 negatives in the past year on EBAY:
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...cootertown2003

In closing I will say that SUNL has improved SOME of their product line. The mini 110 does
seem to be a solid little ATV and some of the SUNL dirt bikes are much improved. But then
again, SUNL sells some dangerous and defective stuff that shouldn't be on the market IMHO
(such as the 90 and 95's that have frames breaking). And Tony, I hope you guys at SUNL do
turn things around. But until I start seeing changes in parts, quality and customer service,
I can't and won't recommend your products. No matter how good a motorized product is, if you
can't get parts or support, then it's not worth buying. I'm tired of seeing people get burned by SUNL.
SUNL has built a lousy reputation one customer at a time, you have a big job ahead of you.

Sun L dealer support absolutely sucks, in PLAIN ENGLISH!

Trying to get parts for these machines is like trying to pull teeth from a fruit fly.

To those who say no one should buy SUNL

Hypothetically if another major distributor were buying products from SUNL, rebranding them, providing good customer support, good Warranty support, and parts support (maybe by importing parts directly)? Would you still not want consumers to buy those products? The point of the question is, are you interested in helping protect other consumers or are you so upset about your bad experiences that you don't want to see anymore money going into SUNL's pockets. Both points of view are very understandable. I am just interested in the motivation.

SunL is turning things around it s going to take some time but it will happen there are to many problems to correct overnight, but myself and some other dedicated few are working our tails off to help get things corrected. Big Ric your right about Texas changing its laws and that is one thing that is helping SunL now get more true powersport dealers.

I dont think he was hacking on raceway at all, but for raceway to claim "just trying to get the most important ones" leads me to believe that if he was spending more then the cost of a bulb he may have been put higher on the list

bill, learn from this and in future emails you need to write ..............dear raceway, I need to buy 25 of your sunl xl90 bit bikes and one head light bulb.

this way you will be put on the top of the "most important" list

if you can afford it try to buy brand names (honda, suzuki, yamaha, kawasaki) even if you have to buy used it will far out last the china stuff and when the kids are ready to step up to a larger toy you will have great resale value

it is great to see you getting your grand kids into riding, they will remember these days forever
