Default brake levers - small hands

After you bent the brake lever, was there sufficient travel left to use the brakes with?

Default brake levers - small hands

Yes I took up all the slack before I did it and I checked clutch engage / disengage. So with that in mind I was able to guesstamate how far I could bend in my lever. I bent mine in not because of small hands but because of the radical way I ride trails. This way I could shift a bit faster and have my hands a little tighter on the bars when running at high speeds on trails.

Has anyone come up with a solution for this? My son's Polaris Phoenix 200 has a hydraulic front brake and cable rear brake. Is there aftermarket plastic levers that could be heated and bent?
Thanks, Mark
