restricters on lt 80

It's good to take it out, otherwise it moves too slow. Make sure you play with the throttle limiter screw as once you take out the exhaust limiter you will get much more power. If your child is inexperienced, screw the throttle limiter down. As they get used to it and more skilled, you can unscrew the throttle limiter and they will get more power. Once the throttle limiter screw is out all the way, it's time to take out the limiter in the carbuerator. It is a brass ring that is about 1/2" thick and about 1/2" in diameter. Take that out and screw the throttle limiter in yet again, only to be gradually let out. With all the limiters out and the throttle screw at its widest point the LT80 gets lots of speed. My daugher's old LT80 could haul around uncle David who is at least a 200 pounder!

Both are already removed from this quad, I just rebuilt the carb because the bike would ride good at high rpm and then lose power all of a sudden. I replaced the plug, checked the fuel lines and petcock, replaced air filter.
I dont know where to go from here. I hate to take the bike in to the shop , I dont know if it could be electical or not?
Thanks for your advice.

What is specifically going wrong? I know with our 80 it was a constant battle to keep the air filter clean. If you let the filter go too long if effs up the carb. It seems that the filter on the 80 got dirtier faster.

it sounds like its loading up. when ran at high r's its getting more gas than in can burn
if its running a little better with the gap changed the plug is probably burning the gas up a little better. it probably needs a jetting change or the needle moved.
