what size for four year olds?
#92
I say get them a yamaha yfz450 and a bombardier outlander 800 and really give all those " I know how to raise your kid better than you." people something to talk about! What's bad is when a guy comes to an atv forum asking an honest question and gets everyones holier than thou comment. By the way most 50cc and smaller atvs can be limited to a lower speed than the powerwheels.

I especially like how you insult others for making some unfavorable comments about you.....I haven't forgotten about the "choice" words you used on one of my threads....
You need to back up and realize you are not our father, so please stop telling everyone what to do!!
Stop acting like you are better than the rest of us.
Ohh that's right...you are a safety instructor so you are better than us?
You cause more grief than good......
Once again I will bring up the point of the AMA sanctioning ATV races for 4 year olds.....Why not pick on them rather than good people tyring to find a way to spend quality time with their kids......
You mention that you are a "master skydiver, commercial pilot, stunt pilot and computer engineer"...Which one of those gives you the right to insult other members...as far as I can tell none of things really makes a difference in life, except for yours.....If you said a doctor or scientist or a red cross volunteer then I would have to give you some respect for your accomplishments....
Come on buddy get off your pedestal

1) No - how I feel is that if some parents were not doing a absolutely terrible job with these decisions we would not be having this conversation and all of these organizations would be wrong. But they are not wrong and that is why this has become a issue.
2) What would you want the ATV instructor giving your kid a certificate to say? "hey there little johnny - you dont fit the quad, your to young and dont know the rules or how to ride it very well, your parents don't give a ratts butt but heres your certificate anyways - have fun" ??? A little irony in that isnt' there?

Its NOT about the Parent, the Kid, or the Cat. Its about what your going to tell a newcomer to this forum when they ask what is the best quad for thier unborn child. All the professional organizations - Including the larger ATV orgainizations recommend NOT putting a child less then 6 years old on any motorized ATV.....

1st thing........I dont want a darn "ATV instructor" handing my kids ANYTHING!!! I teach my kids everything they need to know (and more) about riding! I will put my kid on any size quad I want when I think they are ready. I have a 8 year old that is 5 feet tall at 80#'s and she is sapposed to fit on a 50cc...LMAO she would kill it. So needless to say I dont agree, nor follow any "laws, rules" saying size, age or that someone else is sapposed to teach my kids! I use that grey matter that fills my head! (or for you that are lacking......MY BRAIN)

For me – I VOLUNTEER my non-paid time to help kids 12-15 years old to become certified to ride larger then 90cc quads. With all the chest thumping and peacock feathers being strutted in here about how tough and smart they are – I think it gets forgotten that some of us are actually trying to do something positive in the sport.
It beats sitting around with your tails between your legs because your feelings got hurt in some stupid internet argument over babies riding motorized quads.
If hundreds of children were not dead and 100,000 taken to hospitals over the last couple of years – I’d be more inclined to agree that the restrictions are wrong. But they did die and they did get seriously injured. You can't have it both ways.
Do not make this about me - I am perfectly comfortable I have not made my drivers license my greatest achievement in life. Its about the kids who don’t know how to tell there daddy that he’s a jerk for putting him on a machine that will kill or injure them.
So quit acting like little girls having temper tantrums because I don’t agree with your logic and do the right thing – for your kids.

Lets not forget that its the manufacturers who got the CPSC involved to protect them selves from the irresponsible quad buyers. With out the CPSC, Id bet none of the big 4 would even consider selling quads in this country.
