Default Predator 90 lighting

I just bought my son a new polaris predator 90 ATV. I would like to put another set of lights on the quad for riding at night. I see a lot of after market kits on the web. I'm wondering if the the electrical system can handle two 35 watt halogen lights? I found the older Predators have a 35 watt stator? Did Polaris upgrade the wattage in the 2006 model? Does anyone have a good website to buy them?

Found this cut / paste info on another forum...

-----------------

For those of you with the light upgrade off the 06 model year 90 Pred and of course the 06 bubbas too, I searched hi and low and have finally found and tested a higher output bulb that plugs right in to the factory socket. Goto your local auto store and pick up a Sylvania bulb set number 921 ( LL, if you want the Long life version due to the always one mode of the lights). They are rated at 16 Watts per bulb as compared to the measely 5 Watts of the stockers. I have put 27 riding hours on these and have yet to have a problem with the stator or the housings themselves. As you might guess there is a night and day difference between the two. My son can now CLEARLY see at night and is loving life. They are a larger bulb but dont worry they fit perfect. Have fun and let me know what you all think yourselves. Wildbill- check them out, would be perfect for the new one you have for the little ones.

------------------

If wondering, the Stator in the Polaris 90s will only support lights with "combined wattages" up to 32-34 watts. If you go above 32 watts (say, 2 x 20w bulbs), it will eventually drain the battery. Thus, no lights at all - unless you recharge the battery by turing the lights off.

Hope this helps.....

Thank you very much! I will give them a shot. I don't know why Polarais thinks there doing us a favor. Brighter lights in dusty conditions and at night are safer than the stock light wattage they provide. Thanks
