Default Need CDI box

I have an 05 Marshin 150cc. I need a CDI box. Can't get an answer from the dealer. Its a Chinese atv and the only numbers on the box are (800) and the manufactuer name. Any ideas? Its a 4 stroke motor. I have voltage going in and nothing coming out of the box, ground is fine.

Thanks for any help.

i just look on the marshin website and looks like you have the same gy-6 engine with the cvt transmission as the rest of the 150s. any cdi unit for the 150s will work . raceway shows one at a price of $60.00 . www.redcatmotors.com has the same cdi unit for $27.99 part #101116. electrical componets from one brand to other are interchangeable.

cvc42,

Make sure to verify your din connections(CDI electrical connection) it seems there are two different types of CDI's for the GY6. Mine looks like this one Yamoto, Redcat, BMS 150 CDIand the other is this one 150CDI.

Good Luck.

SB.

before orderng a cdi, you need to check the connector out at the cdi unit, unplug the cdi and look inside the connector, make sure all the pins are in the same place, next keep looking inside and pull one wire at a time and see if the wire is backing out out the connector

I checked that already. This all got started when I got the stator wet. I have voltage going in the CDI but not coming out. I don't have exact info on resistance, volts for the stator so I used what info I could find on testing a stator and it seems OK. A Honda mechanic told me he did not think it was the stator and to start with the CDI box. The stator did not get completley submerged. Since I have to replace the CDI would it be worth the money to put a high performance CDI in. I saw one on Ebay for the GY6 motor for $36.00. Or should I just leave well enough alone? Does anyone know if the GY6 engine is a good one?? Is the design based on Honda? And does it have an exhuast restictor plate in the head?? Wouldn't mind getting a little more power out of it.

Thanks Again

Just to add in here, are price might look higher on parts then others BUT non of these other guys are going to warranty the parts. We even warranty CDI's. Keep that in mind. Most of the parts sites are final sales! Most pay us more for the service and warranty!
