I got a 4 wheeler today I think it's a 250cc sunl but I'm not sure at all, And does anyone know what kind of engines these are some kind of clone or something, It's a twin cylinder. And where can I find any parts if at all Because it's not firing, I got it non running real cheap and I had it running once then it wouldnt start again.

I would first change the plugs to NGK. Drain all the gas out and put fresh gas in. These china quads seem to have issues with the carburators alot. If you feel mechanically inclined, then remove the carb and clean it completely out. I believe the engine in that is a Lifan. Let me know what the spark plug number is and I can give the cross refereced NGK plu for it. Also, if you have a compression tester, I would test the compression out in it. It should be at least 120psi. Where in Kentucky are you located, I'm from Cincinnati.

 

I done put new ngk's in it. When I had it running it sounded real good, You could barely hear it running so I doubt it will need the carbs(2 of them)cleaned yet. I'll deal with that after I fix the firing issue if needed. The carbs and engine look like top nothch stuff, It's the rest of it thats cheap looking. I just need to find somewhere to find parts. I'd post some pics if my camera wasnt broken. But it's something like This one.

Ok, I believe I'm going to need a CDI for the thing but I dont know what will work on it. It looks identical to this one, That's just an example not the one i'm going to get [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] . Now to my ?, With this type work because mines a twin cylinder and I believe those are for single cylinders but the hookups are the same. Any advice on what to get, What's good etc.
I dont need anything high performance just something reliable. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I finally found out what engine that it is, It's a copy of the 250 honda rebel motorcycle engine. Absolutley identical in every way so now I know what to get parts for but I still need a cdi recomendation.

They will have what you need. You will need to look at all the pictures and match your parts up. When you click on the pictures it will tell you at the bottom what ATV's that part fits. Hope this helps.
