I took out the arrestor and you guys were all right...thats what it was...THANK YOU so much...Now the only thing is when it first takes off it boggs down and then takes off like a rocket..Any clues?

Now that's funny. My viper boggs down a little too, then takes off...I doubt it could be anything to do with the arrestor be taken out, but I'm not sure. Anyone know what might cause the hesitation when throttle is first pressed?

You might try moving the clip up or down on the needle in the carburetor. You will most likely need to move it down a notch on the needle(towards the pointed end). This will give you a little richer fuel mixture in low and midrange...After removing the restriction of the spark arrestor maybe the pipe is allowing more air through the engine and you need a little more fuel to even it out again....I played with this on our viper and it made a big improvement in acceleration over the stock setting. This will all depend on temperature and altitude where you live though.

Oldyeller,
does this involve taken apart the carb? Also, I have noticed that the black rubber hose going from the carb to the air filter box is not fully attached to the air filter box. It looks like the sealant that was there has seperated. The hose still fits into the pipe that is in the air filer box, but not sealed. Do you know what I can buy to reseal? thanks.
