BTM Minimite 50?
I'm looking for info or experience from anybody with the BTM Minimite quads. I've been comparing many Chinese models for Christmas gifts and it seems that the Minimite's transmission is unigue being that it's described as a proprietary beltless CVT, not Centrifigal Clutch. It has a Zongshen engine/transmission. Neutral and a single forward gear that is said to have a lot of low end power while throttled down yet can still do 20mph when not throttled down. It can also be push started if the battery is dead and if you hit the remote kill the gear stays engaged and the engine will brake the quad. That would be a great feature if the kids get going down a hill to fast and "freeze". I've seen some members have them listed in their signature line and would like to know how they like them and who they purchased them from.

BTM Minimite 50?
It is no different from most mini quads that are automatic trannies. It is not a CVT trans. A cvt trans is a constant velocity transmission. This means that it shifts in an infinate gear ratio. All CVT trannies are belt driven. There so called cvt tranny is take a 3speed tranny and put it in 1 gear and take the guts out for the rest. About a year ago they were gutless with tons of top end speed. They would not climb over your foot but would keep up with bigger quads. Now they have them geared alot better to where they have good low end but still have 20-30mph top speed. Nothing unique just more refined. BTM is ok along with jackal and baja. Kazuma is also good kids quad. If you buy Chinese then buy from a dealer that will give you the best support like RAceway. NO ONE has better support. Let us know on what you decide in and we'll try and get some more opinions. Look at racewayatv.com and see if yopu like anything there. If you can spring a little more cash you cant beat the Unison Desert cat 50 or 90 quads. Better than any chinese quad and just as good as any name brand but alot cheaper than name brand.
