Default redcat air filter

I have a redcat 90 and there is a mesh type cover over the air filter looks like it should be there but not quite sure

yes it should be there, oil the sleeve, not the filter, it will plug the filter, just put a light coat of oil on the sleeve, better yet put a uni filter on it.

Sir,
I agree...get rid of it, I did for my VX-80. It isn't worth the trouble cleaning it either. SEADAWG
