Suzuki Lt80 Engine Problem

Hey guys,
I havent been on here for ages so hi everyone.
the problem:
I can start the bike up and idle forever and no problems. I get on the bike and take it for a good fast run at full throttle and as i throttle down i will either:
A. throttle down to an idle and then the engine just cuts out
or
B. i press the throttle lever, but the engine like chokes and no fuel is going to the engine and the motor just slows and dies and i cant start it back up.
Please help me as i cant figure out how to fix this problem.

When it dies, if you remove the gas cap, is there a hissing sound? It sounds like it could be as simple as a clogged gas cap vent, or if you have EPA emissions stuff on it, a clogged vent line. Take off the gas cap, and listen.

take the carb off and clean it, sounds like you might have crap in the carb and like 2or4wheels said check for vapor lock. any time your machines start running goofy like this best thing to do is clean the carb and inspect it riding sand dirt and mud you never know what can gets in there?

nope, no vapour blockage. ok, i just took the carb off, how do i go about cleaning it? i dont got any special carb clean liquid so should i just blast the carb with air? i can see a fair few specs and bits of dirt in my carb so that cant be good. also how do i tell if the jets are blocked?

PS. i emptied out all the fuel since it was a bit old, but i never had this problem with old fuel. i had fuel like 2 months old and the quad ran perfect after a good warm up.

the one on the left is the main jet the other one is the pilot jet. or sometimes referd to as the slow jet.
spray carb cleaner through there and blow it out with the air nozzle on your air compressor.
it is good to pull the pilot jet out to clean it . it has lots of little holes in it that can get cloged.
and stick a brand new spark plug in it. i have had a bad plug that drove me nuts one time messing with the carburetor all day only to find out it was the GD! spark plug.

brake cleaner or starting fluid.
dont get any brake cleaner on plastic parts.
get a thin fine wire. like thin like whats is a bread tie or pipe cleaner. and use it to poke things out also.
if you have a torch tip cleaner you can use the very small ones in there but dont use one that will hog out the holes or burr them up.
