Default Decisions on new atv's

Hi all,

I have been reading posts for several months and appreciate all the good info. Here's the scoop I bought my 3 kids atv's in Dec 04. My boy was 4 at the time and he received a Redcat 50, middle daughter was 8 and received a Redcat FX 110 and my 11 year old received a Redcat Fx150. I only bought them as beginner atv's. Now I have been lucky and no bad problems.

Back in July my boy now 6 received a Redcat MPX 70 and the middle daughter now 10 received a Redcat MPX 100 (pink of course). Oldest daughter now 13 still drives the Redcat 150. ( I'm thinking TrailBlazer 250 for her)

Now the dilemma begins, my kids really like to go riding with dad but I am tired of stopping to get the MPX 70 unstuck. Like I said, the Chinese quads have served their purpose but the power and performance issues leave too much to be desired. I am going to buy them nice quads that they can ride up hills and in sand preferrably Automatics with CVT, 2 or 4 stroke doesn't matter.

Here's the info on my boy 6 years old 46" tall and weighs 48 lbs, my daughter is 10 years old 56" tall and weighs 78 lbs. Please keep in mind I don't want them to out grow the new atv's in a year. My boy is a better rider than his 10 year old sister. Neither is a beginner though.

Any and all input is appreciated

Thanks all

Darrell

The DRR product line is a top notch performer and worth every penny.... www.drrinc.com

The 2007 models (DRX50,DRX70, DRX90) are stock with 4 wheel disk, dual a-arms, performance exhaust and 41" to 44" wide.. Water cooled version are also available

Very stable, lots of power and quality that is second to none...

MSRP Ranges from $1,999-$2,499

As soon as they hit the track the familes watching immediately ask what is that....and then the next question is where can I get one......They are amazed at the perofmance and features in stock form.....

More money than a Red Cat, but a worthwhile investment that will last for years and can be easily upgraded and parts are readily available....

Made in Taiwan....not China

The folks at DRR are also top notch and well respected in the industry....Speak with Lou 330-220-3102.....

Good luck no matter what you choose!!

Well today I ordered the Drr DRX2 50 with dual A arms, (I say dual for a reason), it comes with the stock CDI box but they are also sending me the CDI box that overrides the rev limiter. I (oh I am sorry) my boy is soo excited.

Now, I did some checking around and found out you have to specifically ask for the DRR DRX2 50 with dual a arms. If not they do have 2007's with single a arms (those are the ones that are advertised at around $1800. The dual a arms are $2000. They said it will be shipped Wednesday.

Anybody have a heads up for me when it comes. Let me know if there is something I should look for.

I already ordered the Rath nerfs.

Just swap out the limited CDI to let the quad perform the way it can... (put oil in the tranny too...don't forget)

Make sure you boy holds on...it is quick for a 50!!

Look at the front shocks they should be Red in color....the early 07s had grey front shocks.....

Make sure to run a good premix oil as well...It may come with a break in oil in the injector bottle....Get a good oil!! I like Motul for injection....For premix Klotz R50 or Belray H1R.

One of the most popular upgraded would be to change the front rims to aluminum (keep stk fron tires) and then replace the rear with Carlisle Sno Hogs and aluminum rims...Saves you a lot of weight

Make sure to post how much he loves it.....I am trying my best to get this forum to embrace the DRR product line....

When your ready to upgrade PM me and we can start a thread of ideas!! Sprockets, carbon fiber reeds, premix instead of auto injection etc...

Good luck and congratulations on a great choice!!!

Bulldog,

Hey, all the advise is welcomed. I ordered the Rath nerfs but that's all for now. I am sure I will get the Douglas polished wheels and also replace the rear tires. From there it will be a feeling out period. I am contemplating getting my 10 year daughter old the DRX 2 90. This way when she will be able to practice on the track with her brother.

If you can think of anything I should have on hand before it arrives please let me know.
I'm sure I will be contacting you later.

Me and my boy have to do some safety equipment shopping.

Thanks

You can get them in Pink...

Ask Lou at DRR he can refer you to a dealer with Pink 90s in stock. 330-220-3102

Have the tranny oil on hand.....Klotz Flexdrive 30 is the most popular choice(have a funnel with a very skinny tube on it to get the fluid in the tranny)

The header bolts can come lose so we put a thread lock on the bolts to keep them locked in....

Pretty much a good bike out of the box and no problems to look for

Good Luck Gary
