Good write up of your experience. If you don't mind I'd like to copy that and send it to some parents who are thinking about/have ATV's for their kids. You give great examples of using experience as a teaching tool, and can really be put to good use!
Go right ahead, but please anonymize it by removing my username and city, state information.

Also, please let me know their reaction. Hopefully it will encourage them to get their kids into ATV's, but doing it the correct way with proper safety equipment and the NUMBER ONE best safety device: Uninterrupted parental supervision.

Thanks!

Happens to everyone at one time....or more.

My kid rolled his last summer and was more worried about getting grounded and not able to ride
as he thought he broke it. LOL! He was fine other than a little scrape to the knee. He has knee
guards now to go with the rest of his gear.

He got back on it the next day, but learned to take it a bit easier on the corners and not to get to
over confident.

PRECISELY the point I was trying to make earlier. The experience gained from small mishaps will hopefully keep them from having bigger mishaps later.
