Need advice for 11, 14, & 16 yr. old first quads
#1
Hi all,
I'm looking at a Polar Cat 110(I can't afford jap quad, I have 3 sons so I have to buy a total of 5 to get the whole family outfitted) for my 65lb 11yr. old son (small for his age). We've rented quads before and he did quite well on a Polaris 90. Has anyone had any experience with the Polar Cat?
For my other 2 sons, 14 and 16 I was thinking of the Jetmoto 150 I know cheaper Chinese quads can be had, but it looks like Jetmoto is a good compromise between price/quality/features/parts availability.
I used to wrench on motorcycles for a living many moons ago so maintenance is a snap for me.
Any constructive / informative comments would be cool and appreciated.
Any recommendations for an open, 5 quad trailer?
Oh, BTW most of our riding will be in the sand at the dunes.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums Rockhard,
I would have to tell you to stay away from that 110 for your 11 year old. It's pretty small for a 110, I'm afraid your son would outgrow it quick. I started my son when he was 12 out on a Redcat 150 (Chinese made Raptor-style), and he still rides it today. I would put him on a Jetmoto 150, and your 14 & 16 year olds on a 250. You can limit the throttles down on them until their riding skills improve. This will also ensure that you won't have to upgrade for a while since they won't outgrow them for years. Here is what I recommend:
- Buy from Raceway. If you look on this forum at other threads you will see why. Best customer service out there.
- Buy Jetmoto or Kazuma. These are the top Chinese manufacturers out there right now.
Good luck and let us know how your purchases go.

IMO. Depending on your budget.... I would say 125/150cc for your 11yr old, and the 150cc's for your other 2 children.. Then the 250cc 's for you and your wife... That would equal 5... Raceway would be the dealer choice... But if you're really limited to your budget.. Anamcycles has been getting some decent feedback.. They sell a 110/150/200/250... Hybird models... You could then get the 150cc for $950 for your 11yr old... 2 x 200cc's for $900 each, and 2 250cc's for $1200 each... And I'm pretty sure since you're buying 5 atv's both places would even work you a better deal...
Like I said.. If you have the extra $$ go with raceway.. But if you're in a pinch.. Anamcycle is another option.... As far as trailers... Hmmm... You can find them just about any place... Including homedepot... Again it all depends on what you can afford... Maybe check your local paper/ebay, for a nice used one....

JetMoto 110 or 125 for the 11yo, 150 for the other 2 and 200 for the wife and 250 for you. You wont find better off brand quads than the JetMoto and if you do a package deal Raceway will work with you.

Thanks to all for helping a noob as myself. This is a great forum with some cool people, I'm so glad it's here!
It looks like I'll be ordering a Jetmoto 150 from Raceway so we can size it up and get a read for fit. That will
help give us a point of reference.
Appreciate all the feedback and enthusiasm on the Jetmoto line, it make it a lot easier to make a decision. I hope to contribute
with feedback of my own down the road.

Great photos and videos Outofline! It's great to see families having fun together with these machines. It seems tougher and tougher to keep everyone doing things together as a family when they get in their teens. Video games, computers, and friends make it tough sometimes. I'm looking forward to sharing some of this fun with my family before they grow up and move on.
