niece's quad wont hold a charge!
#1
Hello everyone new guy here and i have a problem. Okay my niece wanted a quad so we all ponied up and got her a 2005 yamota 50cc 4stroke . The problem is that the quad has about 10hrs of ride time due to the fact that the battery doesn't get charged. We have sent it back several times to the dealer and came back "fixed", but no such luck. I am an auto mechanic and tried to look at it but i'm a little lost with out a wiring diagram. If anyone has run into this problem please let me know, it now has fallen into my hands to due the "maintenance" on it .
Any help will be greatly appreciated since the little time she has spent on the quad I can see that i'm in for a long time of repairs !
Thanks,
saul

Will they quad stay running after it starts? If so the charging system is working and the battery is probably the problem. If the battery is orignal might want to try a new battery any way.

If its Chinese, the batteries on these are crap. My sons battery died this week on his Coolster 110cc, so I'll be going to Wal-Mart this week to get a replacement. Since new, the quad was slow to turn over when the starter button was pressed. It was only a matter of time.
