stupid ?? about oil change

stupid ?? about oil change
just got a 110cc and changed the oil like everyone says to. But when i went to take out he drain plug i guess i did the wrong one. The bult had a long spring on the other end. ???????? I just put it back in and did the other bolt. Did i do any damage and what is it?
