Not quite sure what your asking? Top speed? Mods? Got my sons to go about 26MPH with plenty more to offer. Thats the 4-stroke 07-08 models.

Try this thread. You have probablly read it already. It deals with the KFX90, but the 50/90 both have the same restrictions. Cliffmiracle post a few websites on that thread that shows how to remove the collar. Just remember, there is no damn green wire to cut!!!

Crap, I really don't know where to begin. Lets start by getting that collar(washer) out of the clutch first. PM me if you have problems.

Default Kids Kawasaki KFX50 speed limiter Help

Removing the CVT collar takes top speed from ~8MPH to ~15MPH. You'll want to use an impact wrench to access the collar.

While you have it open replace the stock clutch rollers with a lighter set 5-6grams ($20-30). Stock are 8 grams and are too heavy. This mod helps low end but will also make the motor start hitting the stock rev limiter on top end. Replacing the stock CDI with a higher rev unit (~$180) will get you +20MPH and have a pretty good little running 50cc maching for about $200 total.

With the increased speed comes less stability. Another free mod is to move the rear offset wheels to the front and the front wheels to the rear. This adds 3-4" inches of width to the front and creates a much more stable manchine when the little ones are doing those high speed turns. I hightly recommend doing this if you do any of the mods above. The valve stems on the rear wheels will now be on the inside but it is small inconvenience given the added stability

Default Kids Kawasaki KFX50 speed limiter Help

Hey Tim { AIRMOBILE} thnx for all your help and tips on removing my sons quad collar to make the KFX 50 go faster, unfortunately<<<< I still haven't had time to do it , work/home....added up.... Any way hey I saw that you had a service manual for this KFX 50 QUAD ,, I have a prob trying to get it to run , It starts then once I hit throttle it bogs out, I took carb apart 5 times, cleaned all holes, jets, all looks well, I bypassed fuel filter, I cked airbox, I have great spark, and I did a compression test ..ALL cked out excellent but bike still wont kick over.. My question to you is in the carb there is something called the jetstarter<<<< when I called the dealer he said it was an electric choke of sorts. That is the only thing I haven't researched.. Can you look it up and see if they have a way{ ohms, voltage, with key on in'out} to test this too see if I have a bad one..

Hey if you have no time n/p if you do have time Thanx alot for helping

Mike in Mass....
