Default A kfx 50 question.

Could someone help me out with the kfx 50's gas tank fuel valve? I would like to know what all those different positions on the fuel valve are. Dont they usually have "on" "off" and "reserve"?

it has (on,res, prime). it does not have off. the petcock only opens when running. but if its broke it will flow all the time. if its broke I got a shut off valve from a lawn mower2.99. lots cheaper. petcock 50.00

Ok so what is the prime about? This quad is my nephews but it wont run right when it is wide open , so i am thinking it is not getting enough fuel in the main jet circuit. So either i dont got the fuel **** right or i got a plugged main or the float is out of wack.

if you run your carb out of gas, or in the summer it evaperates. use the prime it does not require the motor to run to get gas to the carb. If you are having problems with gas try running on prime( its just like on position).
did you take the petcock apart? if you did( like I did) it ruined the seal and does not work any more

Our 03 LT50 (same as 03 KFX50) doesn't have reserve. PRI-ON-PRI. When in ON position, fuel is drawn by vacuum. PRIME position lets fuel flow into carb to help with starting quad after it has not been run for a long period of time.

Not sure about the new 4-stroke ones.
