Polaris Predator 90
#1
I bought my daughter a 2008 Polaris 90 and we were riding it in the dark the other day and noticed that the rear tail light was off but the brake light worked fine. So I thought I had a bad bulb filament so I checked it out with my meter and it was fine. The bulb has a dual filament so the rear tail light should work without the brake on? I guess the question I'm asking is that anyone else who has the same bike the rear taillight works just fine? I will spend more time this weekend tracing out the wires and try and figure out what is going on. If anyone else has experience with this all help is much appreciated.
Thanks

My son's '07 Outlaw 90 is the same way, the light is off except when braking. Since it is a dual filament bulb you could probably rig something up so that the other filament is lit all of the time. One thing to note, for whatever it is worth: the user manual states that the youth quads do not have lights that are designed for driving in the dark, which is probably why the taillight is not always on. This may be just to cover their a** for liability purposes, as the "headlights" seemed fairly bright the time that I drove it around our yard in the dark, but I did not compare them to the headlights on my quad.

Since its dual filament you should try and clean out the socket for the bulb. They could be making the socket and a small piece(s) of rubber could have fallen into it and so it only turns on when a higher voltage is sent to the socket which would be enough to in a sense override the rubber bits. (when braking is applied) I hope I was of some help. If not ask the dealer about it. But dont go all the way to he dealer, just call. Chances are it was made to only work when you apply the brake. Please PM me the final diagnosis so I can add it to my book of knowledge. (not really a book, just what I can remember in my head)
