Default Need Help...Carb issues?????

Just bought a pos 2000 Sundiro Sunray, 90cc 2stroke... Ive checked the spark, compression, reeds & cleaned the carb...It hits for 2-3 seconds when i give it a shot of starting fluid, but other than th@ its lifeless... i also cant feel any suction when I put my hand over the carb & sometimes it acts like it wants to fire when i place my hand over the exhaust???? Any ideas would be appreciated.

just my thoughts but if it is running off starting fluid, i would say you arent gettin fuel.... petcock turned on? float in carb stuck? fuel line clogged? bad fuel? just where i would start lookin.

Welcome to the forums!

Once you do get it running ride for a bit then check your spark plug and make sure you arent running to rich or too lean.

Fuel lines and float are good to go...it mixes oil and gas itself...The carb has 2 hoses that connect to it, 1 from the gas tank & a smaller one from the engine that oil comes through. There is also an electrical device that connects to it, that almost resembles the jet when taken out, but shorter. If I had to guess, it probably has something to do with regulating the gas/oil ratio..."petcock"?

I don't this brand at all but unless it has a manual choke I would guess that electrical device is an electric choke. One problem that I had with our Eton 90 2 stroke is the gas petcock when turned on created a three way junction. Once the motorwork was done it would push the gas back into the tank and not feed the carb and after a long run would just run out of gas. Once you turn it over for a little take the plug out and see if in fact it is getting gas, could be you have enough spark to ignite starting fluid but not gas/oil. Be carefull thought how much you run it on starting fluid, they don't last long with out any oil.

Try blocking the oil intake and mixing your own gas.... if that works, then you have to much oil going into your syste,.... IMO

Take the exhaust off an see if it runs! could have exhaust stopped up or port blocked.. this could cause you not to feel suction thru carb... This is common with 2 strokes because of beginner riders or the resticters in exhaust or cheap oil mix... This just easy to check....
