Fushin 90CC starting issues
#1
Ok so i bought 2 Fushin 90cc FXATV90 Quads (bought them used was told they had starting issues). I have only messed with one of them so far and it started when i got it home after a few choke tries but then wouldnt start. I took the carb off and cleaned it out (was told it had been sitting for awhile) and changed spark plug and battery. I know there is fuel getting to the carb. and i tested for spark (good). I was told it could possibly be the stator but if that was the case why would it turn over. If i spray starter fluid it runs until it has burned that off then dies. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Fuel, Compression, Fire. You have 2 of the 3. You need to get a comperssion gauge and check what your getting. Very likely you need to adjust your valves, Normally pretty simple just time consuming. You can always check by holding the muffler shut with your hand If during the strokes you fell suckution your valves are two lose or to tight. If you have any question or other problems let me know

Could be. Easy way to test is pull the line going to the carb, if fuel coms out then filter good. When you cleaned the carb did you drain the tank and clean it and the lines out to? you said been sitting a while gas can turn to laquer after only 2 weeks of sitting. What you can do is also manual choke the carb by holding your hand over the inside, after trying to start 30 sec or so your and should have gas on it if not your not getting fuel. How did you clean the carbs? and Were are you located?

i took the carb off and took the pan off the bottom. I took the screen off and sprayed the carb with cleaner. I never took the carb. apart though but will do it tonight. I live in Richmond, VA. I pulled the line off and fuel dumps out of it. I also have an "overflow" line on the other side of the carb with a release screw. I cracked the screw and fuel comes out of the carb and when i shut off gas via fuel supply line it stops coming out of dump line. So i assumed fuel is getting in and out of carb.

Ok some times elevation can be a problem, Don't think you should have that problem. With out knowing your experince I would tell you not to tare apart the carb due to settings. But unless you have all ready messed with your set screws can can go ahead and tare it apart. I would say if you havn't messed with your set screws don't. That way you don't have to reset them and mess with that. What I beleve the best way to clean a carb is soaking it. Oriley auto parts sells a 1 gallon can of carb soak cleaner(I think its called berryman runs about 20 bucks). Its great you just take the bowl off and let it soak for 30 mins then spray clean with carb cleaner(I use it on all of my toys and it wors great) then put back toghter. But you probley still need to pull the spark plug out and test compersion. I had a ninja sport bike that would start for a second or so on ether or would run if pop started but did the valves and fixed everything. PM if you want i can give you a call and talk you through more

First let me state that neither the Dealer or Fushin USA has been of any help fixing the starting issues with the two new Fushin ATV 110's that I bought a year ago. I replaced batteries in both of them and also installed new spark plugs [KNG C7HSA]. If the machines sat for a log time the batteries would discharge. I found a 10MA discharge from the batteries with all switches off. After troubleshooting with NO DOCUMENTATION OR HELP for a half a day, I found the drain was coming from the Safeguard modules. I disconnected the modules and charged the batteries for 36 hours on 2 AMP trickle charge [probably not the correct proceedure]. Even though I eliminated part of the safety features of the bikes I have yet to have any more starting problems. I'm not saying this was the correct fix, but it fixed my problem.

yea fushin dealers are no help at all. I got them running today. It was 2 things actually. The batteries were discharged and the jets in the carb were clogged. The reason they didnt start after i soaked them in carb cleaner was the fact that it just sat in it. I ran a thin wire through the jets and unclogged them and they work great.
