lt 80 whining noise
#1
My sons lt 80 we had just got for him seems to have a some kind of a whining noise. When he drives by me you can hear it pretty loud. especially when he accelerates. When he lets off the throttle and is coasting it stops, but when he throttles it up you can hear it. Also he was turning around in the neighbors drive going about 2 mph, ran into a flag pole and destroyed his bumper, I am assuming it had been bent prior to him crashing, because it shouldn't have bent like that going that slow. where can I get one. everywhere I looked the are $80-100 bucks. seems a little steep any help is appreciated. Thanks Kevin

As far as the whining noise. Take off the Pull start cover and look which direction the arrows on the belt are pointed. If the belt was put on backward I have seen them whine pretty good. The arrows should point toward the REAR of the machine. If that does not help, make sure your starter is fully disengaged. If the starter is still engaged or "hung up" it will aslo produce a whining noise as well as burn it up. I have seen kids holding the starter button in and not know it while they are concentrating on holding on to the handlebars. Hope this helps.
