Was the Honda Pilot the one with a 400cc 2 stroke motor?
Was the Odyssey the one with the 350 4 stroke?
Just curious.

The FL350 Odyssey and FL400 Pilot also both have electric start, reverse and four wheel brakes brakes.

The Pilot is water cooled and has a bunch of little extra features like a reverse light, nuetral light, etc.

The 350 is faster off the line and loses a little to the Pilot on top end stock to stock. A full race mod 350 will smoke a full race mod Pilot.

Hey livewire, have you heard a kit to make the FL350 liquid cooled? I saw an odyssey for sale around here and it said liquid cooled, but I couldn't get ahold of the guy to see where he got it.

I am just about to get a batch of water cooled heads made. Email me at Steve@Bishop.net.

I just wanted to know if there were water cooled heads available for the FL350, if I get an Odyssey, which I might, I'll let you know if I want one.

I would not recomend any significant mods without one. They already run on the hot side stock. Before I put the head on mine, I had it get so hot, the piston reached it's flashpoint. Aluminum dust got blown all the way back into the intake and coated the inside of the exhaust. I could not even remove my EGT probe.

If your intent is to build it up, one with a toasted motor would save you money. I don't run any fenders or the plastic floor tub. One with cracked up fenders would be cheaper as well. I put an aluminum floor in mine to replace the tub.

You find them with toasted motors a lot because people do not rebuild them properly. www.livewireatv.com/350.htm describes special considerations that must be done that most people do not do.

I run mine for 20 minute stretches wide open and near wide open for hours at the dunes without problem now.

Do you know of any 350's with a blown motor? I am starting an LT500 project now but I may still want an odyssey project if I can find one for the right price. I think I have read about that procedure you were talking about other people not doing. And oen question, I like to think I know everything about engines and such, but what is an EGT probe?

If I knew of one that was a steal of a deal, I would buy it as another parts machine.

All the ones I know of are running. The cheapest of which are $2500. Check your local paper. You have to look a lot of different ways. Some will say 350 Odyssey, 1985 Odyssey, FL350. Some will even call it a Pilot. These are usually overpriced because they think it is a Pilot because they saw one for sale for $5000 and think they can get it for the 350.

If one has Works shocks, Comet 102C clutch or a water cooled head, those parts are worth paying extra. The Progressive shocks are almost as bad as the stock ones. The Comet 94C and Power Blok clutches are better than stock, but not as good as a 102C.

The only place I ever see them for sale is in the Cycletrader and on the bulletin boards at offroad.com I have seen a Pilot for sale for 3000 cause the person thought it was an odyssey, but I didn't have the money then to buy it and it is gone now(Go figure) I think I will probably buy one at the beginning of next year.
