tommorow I am getting a go-cart.It had alumunim wheels and slicks all the way around.IT needs to be sanded and repainted.I am trading my nitro R/C truck for it.The go-cart has no engine.The same guy has a 500 ninja motorcycle that is trashed.I am thinking about buying the bike and using the engine on the go-cart.The main problem would be shifting and the clutch.


I know racing go-carts use yz125 motors.So how are there clutch's and shifters setup?


I really need some help here.I think it would be fast as heck!Definitly need disk brakes!

First of all, you will not be happy with the ninja engine in the gokart frame. It puts out WAY TOO MUCH horspower for a kart. It is also a pretty heavy engine to put in a gokart frame. Just buy a 125 engine to put into it. It will be alot more fun. Overkill applies here.

It doesn't look like it is going to happen anyways.My parents want me to get my 250r back togother before I take on anymore projects.

I am pretty mad right now at them.I mean I am the first one of my brothers and sister's that is going to graduate.I changed schools because I was flunking all my classes.I went ot a private school.This report card I didn't get one grade below an 88 percent.What did I get nothing!I am the only one that has never been in serios trouble.Both my sister's got nice cars.I got a s10 which isn't all that bad.But They paid for my sister's and brother's insurance.So I have to pay over 250 dollars a month for car insurance and school tuiton.Plus try and build a 250r?That doesn't work whenever I barely making a 100 bucks a week.

And then tonight we get in an arguement over this go-cart.They have a house as a project,a 69 camaro,a 91 3/4 ton chevy truck,Friday they are buying a wrecked grand am for my little sister.So she can have a nice car when she turns 16.

If I were you, I'd do it. I feel your pain about the whole school/parents/projects/quads thing, the last 2 years I was promised a quad if I did all sorts of "odd jobs" for my mom and Uncle, but needless to say, I never got a QUAD(sure I got a trike, but it was supposed to be a 250R set up for MX but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo) oops sorry, my personal problems, not yours!!!

 

Ooops your original question, I would try and find a local track where they have the Shifter Karts an talk to the experts there. I'm sure you could find a forum like this for Go-Carts, just search in Yahoo or something.

 

IF YOU WANT TO WHINE ABOUT YOUR PROBLEM'S WITH HIGH SCHOOL GO TALK TO A SHRINK DONT WASTE PEOPLES TIME ON THE FORUM. GET A REAL JOB MOVE OUT ON YOUR OWN AND THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO ARGUE WITH MOMMY AND DADDY. BUT THEN YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO AFFORD IT ANYWAY SO SHUT UP!!!
