Greetings all. New subscriber here. My princess just turned 4 and I'm interested in getting her started on a mini quad. Hopefully she'll become interested in a mini dirt bike in time, but that will be her choice. I have a chance to purchase a new Eton 40cc for $1K. Does it have a good reliability record? Thanx in advance, Peter.

Peter, Excellent choice! You can get a remote kill switch for that machine also.

They can grow out of bikes real fast!! Try to go as big as possible, yet still be safe. My daughter went through a Zinger, LT-80, and LT-160 in just a few years.

You make good sense... and I would follow your logic for every other quad that she will have.

But as a long-time biker, I've learned that it's crucial that your first bike (same for quad, I think) be one that you can easily handle. That's why most beginner's Motorcycle Safety Courses use 250cc. It's important that your FIRST bike be small enough for you to be able to competently handle it. Thereafter, and because kids grow so fast, your logic makes perfect sense.

Thanks for the feedback too.
