I just purchased a 2003 le (with the flag graphics) and i was wondering how to tell if it had the updates or not, or if these are really anything to worry about. It is not going to be ridden that hard, just like trails and will prolly never leave 3rd or 4th. I was trying to read to find out if it does or not, and i think that i read somewhere that if it has the silver shift lever than it does have the updates. Either way mine does have a silver shifter and i am just curious as to what all this stuff is about.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a hose on the oil drain bolt?If not you have breather update.
Is the front motor mounts connected by a piece of aluminum with one bolt running all the way through?That is motormount update
Finally but MOST important pull the clutch cover and shine a flashlight in there off to the left you will see either black allenhead bolts,eight point bolts with aluminum tabs on them,or studs with flange nuts.All these hold the crankplate in place if you have the allenhead bolts you need to update.
