Default Cdale Dyno numbers.

Anyone had their 'Dale on the dyno?

If so, what map? what exhaust? anything else on the dyno that day for comparison?

I was wondering if anyone had the 'Dale on the dyno same day as a new YFZ? I want to know the HP numbers of a 'Dale as well as a YFZ with cam mod/piped/jetted/air box lid removed. How much more power is this Yami making? That's what I want to know.

Any ideas? Facts?

Any kids going to say how much faster the Yamaha is without having a clue or ever even seeing a Cannondale? LOL ... j/k

This summer, I am determined to be faster than the Yamaha. I think I have what it takes already on the way, but just wondering what the stock HP numbers are so I know where I stand.

Thanks for all intelligent replies (2004ds650 that doesn't include you) lol....

I asked this question back in may before the yfz came out and and most of the answers generaly were 36 for the milder maps and 40 for the stronger maps with a pipe. I wonder if any mags ever got around to doing a map or pipe shootout ? Some said you could gain as much as 3 to 5 horse just playing around with the offsets and flowrates.

Well here is my story.

I am buying the ported head from Haydug - he said on the stock Blaze map they saw a 6HP gain across the powerband. To me that says it could be 10 HP with a custom map feeding it properly.

I also plan on the ACE airbox - that is supposed to be 3HP on its own or up to 6HP with the custom map. Impressive to say the least.

I also plan on getting the TC pipe. It is supposed to be the best, hardest pulling available. I'm guessing it is at least 2-3HP over the FMF stock Ti4 that I have on there and that what I think was on the 40HP Moto dyno #'s that I've heard. The TC also has a custom map for it from Nac's.

With every mod I have needing its own "custom map" that means I'll surely be making my own. Probably the only Cdale on the planet with this combo of mods, how could I ever use a map for just one mod? It would be like running a carb that isn't perfectly tuned, IMO.

I was just wondering how many HP I need to handle the Yamaha. I think I can handle it, at least I hope. I'll be hoping to be pushing above 50HP with the combo I have above. What do you think? I trust your opinion.

Here is my opinion on dyno numbers. First off assume nothing or you are sure to be disapointed. You should run a baseline run FIRST before doing any mods. I dont think adding mods equals added power. (6 hp port job +2hp filter+ 5 hp pipe+4 hp map )does not equal 17 hppower gain. Its how these part work together that determines the actual numbers. I installed a paxton supercharger on my friends 454SS pickup and we also installed try y headers, ecm reprogram , and camshaft kit. He was sure it was putting out 500 plus horse but when I dynoed it ,it put out just under 300 but had 875 ft lbs of torque. He was very disapointed in those numbers even though the truck could easily beat my 1985 corvette in the quarter mile and could smoke the tires at any speed.

thomez,
i dont know anything about dyno numbers but as you know my friend just bought a moto. I dont have the cam mod but i do have pipe jetted and lid removed. In a 300 foot drag i come out on top with my yfz. Not by much though. The yfz is just a lot faster out of the hole then the moto.

Oh, I definitely agree that you simply can't add numbers together. If so, it would be simply amazing.... That is why I was hoping for a 10-12HP increase with everything.

I guess more than anything I'll be doing seat dyno work. I'm hoping to get to a real dyno at some point but I'm sure I'll have the head on before then. We'll see what I got then I guess.

That is a helluva lot of torque. He should have been impressed because that was the lamest 454 I think GM ever built. I'll be it would have dynoed at 180HP stock. They were rediculously weak for their size. So infact he probly did a lot for that thing.

Thanks for the reply Steven.

I'm hoping that with a few more HP I'll be able to take guys like you in a similar drag situation.

Is the Moto stock with the Moto map and gearing?

Ohton racing dyno'd a Dale at FSW's w/ Trintiy pipe and map. They put on Hoosier tires on all quads they dyno and got 43.9 hp. A guy blew a Raptor up and went into town and bought a new one and slapped it on the dyno the same day and if I remember it said 36 something??? I could be wrong though. Now that was a bone stock Raptor.. Alot of companys or pipe makers put on flat track tires, so that is an important question to ask, as it can add 5-8 hp.. When my Dale is dialed in correctly w/ the Nacs map I will make a video of me and Buddahs YFZ up Utahs Sand Mtn. This is a hill that tells no lies and rider error is not a factor. The faster machine ALWAYS WINS.. The hill is 1200ft long and 600ft high and no dyno can argue w/ that.. I will say I pulled the Valley side in 4th gear near redline w/ stock gearing, cam mod, full HMF, on his YFZ and that beats any Banhsee w/ bolt on's except maybe carbs. I was very very impressed...
