Default help home from Iraq

Just got home from Iraq I have a 2003 cannable. right before I left I was out rideing with a friend. I was flying down a trail and my quad made a big pop sound like a backfire and shut off. when I went to start it. it made a sortof clicking sound near the cylinoid when it was clicking it whouldnt turn over. every few times it whould turn over and start up then it whould shut off on its own if you tried to go it whould shut off. anyone know what this could be? I swapped out the cylinoid but same thing. I left 2 days later and its been sitting for 8 months. the day before that happened I put a new battery in it I dont know if this is relevan but details help if any one knows what this is Id appreciate it. my leave is over in 10 days
Thanks

Sounds like your crank siezed up. Pull the stator cover and spin the engine with a socket /racket on the flywheel. It should rotate smooth . If it grumbles and is notchy its crank time. Your lucky ,with all the new crank options there are many ways to go now.

Minus the clicking noise, my quad did the same thing. It had a booger in the needle in the carb. I might be wrong but I hope that's all it is.
Welcome home.

Well, that's probably not it since 'Dales are Fuel Injected.

It could also be a case of a loose battery connection.

quads can run without the battery, plus he can turn the motor over.

Cannondales CANNOT run without a battery, not even with a poorly charged one. The FI requires it.
