What happened to Tester
#21
White man speak the truth about a few of the ATV's coming... The DS 450 will be out soon, It is different (2 Stroke). And it's no secret that Suzuki has been working on the 450 for a while now with their new RMZ MXer. AS far as the others I couldn't say for sure, but it would be a waste of money to invest time with the 250's...

A two stroke????Hmmm. I have not heard that one, though if one were to do it, I'd pick Bomb over the big four as they can fly lower under the radar and have a good 2 smoke program.
I heard they had tested a 400cc twin at Glen Helen a couple of years back, but nothing since.....interesting.

I would indeed imagine it would. That is a powerplant I am not yet familiar with, however if BRP does come out with a 440 Blue Smoke that might rattle some big four cages.....

Rumor lately is the YFZ is going to be new this year also.Way back I said Arctic Cat was going to make their own motors. That is happening right now.I dont believe you will see a 06 DVX copycat. They are another company to watch.

Don't expect Yamaha or Honda for that matter to sit back and wait for the other manufactures to come out with something. Honda knows they need more, Yamaha know honda doesn't like second position. I wouldn't expect Arctic Cat to have any serious threat in 2006, but you may see some updates to the Polaris Quad as it's running it's time. Rumors in Japan about the KXF 450, but Kawasaki has been a little slow when it comes to bringing products to market....

I just don't see the logic in creating a quad without a race class to compete in. If Bomb wants to be serious in racing outside of the desert events, they need a 450cc 4 stroke class quad to be competative and that would help sales. A 440/450cc 2 stroke would be like the 650 and the Predator and be limited in classes in which it can compete. Unless, of course they are looking to soak up the die-hard 2-stroke Banshee fans that will be orphaned in the next couple of years.
Still, that would be a bizzare strategy none the less.

Lets think about this, If you wanted to sell something to the atv market. Whom would you like to sell it to... (A) The weekend warrior or (B) The Racer? If It were my money, which it's not, I'd want to have a unit for the 90-95% of the market. If it's fast, handles well, has good suspension and is light enough to play around on I'd start a waiting list... They already have a motor that out classes the competition in the snow. How the harness the HP in the ATV will have to wait and see but It should flat out smoke anything that's been built to date in a drag race (off the showroom). At the end of the day it's all about the numbers, like it or not... BRRRAAAAPPPPP!!!!

Well as far as the snow alot dont agree since the Yamaha 4stroke sleds were the top sellers. The rev is the reason Bombadier sells its two-strokes and with a Rev it is all about handling and suspension. The motors are actually quite slow compared to many other snowmobiles. They also have their share of problems like bad rings, crummy gas mileage and others.
