If u say that the 400ex shouldnt be with these other high performance quads then y did it get second? Also they never mentioned the bad a-arms or the weak axle and the clutch. O and the $$$$$ of 400!

So the Cannondale has already posted a podium finish? That has to be some kind of record. I think you should be really worried about your 400EXs and Raptors; something bad is running up behind them.

From now on, I'm calling the Cannondale a cannon because to pass the WHOLE field to get to first, then suffer a flat tire (not stock wheels)and then pass all but 2 riders, you need a cannon! GO FX400!!!!

How about an even money shoot-out? Take the most expensive, in this case the Cannondale at what? $8,000? Give each quad the difference in modification money. The Cannon already has lots of goodies, and there isn't much you can buy for it anyway. The 400EX is the cheapest, and needs the most mods to be competitive. An EX goes for what? $5,995? So it gets 2 grand in modifications. I have a DS and a Raptor and I know they need mods just to get out the door.
A DS or Raptor with $1,500 worth of mods would give a Cannondale a hell of a good run, as would an EX with 2 grand.
All in all I think the Raptor did a real good job, especially for being stock. The Cannon was a prototype, and did great for a pre-production model. I was dissapointed with the DS, as I was with my DS, till I put TimmyBoy upper A-arms and works shocks on it. The improvement was about 1000 percent. The front end geometry of both the Cannon and the DS killed them both in the dunes. And the DS is supposed to be the King of the Dunes. Without the TimmyBoys it's more like the Emperor's New Clothes.

This is great!! 660 posts a slightly inflamatory message and rather then everyone getting into a bashing war, you guys post informative, unbiased opinions about your quads. A little bantering and pot shots done in fun are just that, FUN. Once they start to get mean and are done with intentional malice, the Forums start to suffer. Keep up the good work!! Oh, and by the way, the EX, DS, Raptor and Canondale are great machines but could never keep up with my Scrambler...........

It's funny - I just posted on another topic about how incredible it was that the Cannondale still managed to come in third, coming throught the field twice, and being basically a stock bike! And here I see there are others that feel the same way! I have a 400EX, and as loathe as I am to praise a newcomer, I think the Cannondale is going to surprise many people. It's still too early to really tell, but so far it's looking pretty incredible. Anyone who is totally close-minded to new products only limits themself. I'm keeping my eyes on that Cannondale!
