I thought I read somewhere that you could hook a laptop up to the computer on the bike to make some changes. What changes can you make to the bike this way? Also does Cannondale or anyone offer an extended warranty/maintenance that you can purchase for the quad? Thanks.

From what i've heard, there are some pre-programmed powerbands that you load into the cannons onboard computer. You can actually choose what type of power band you want just by clicking a few buttons. You can program it for bottom, mid or top end power. It is really cool i think. Cannondale has a winner. I'm not sure if the speed can be programmed, but i know that the blaze and moto 440 have the feature.

I may be wrong about this so if I am someone correct me please. I understand the GP control system to let the user download some pre-programed fuel injection maps as well as make up some of your own maps and store a certian number of them in the system so that the user can switch between maps while riding. I also read that the user has to know what he or she is doing if they use one of their own maps that they made up or they could blow the engine from running a to lean of a mixture. I think all the new models will have the tuneable GP control system. I think that you can purchase an extended warranty, If I'm not mistaken someone in this forum did.

Juice,

CdaleRacer is correct. A computer program can remap the fuel injection system of any of the Cannondale machines. There are some fuel flow changes you can make, but for the most part the program is an excellent diagnostic tool.

Also the control system can be installed on any of the machines. It can switch between three different maps which you can program yourself on the computer or can be obtained from Cannondale.

The factory fuel injection without any add-ons can only hold one map.

Juice, I have a 4 year, fifty dollar deductible extended warranty. The cost was $350.00. It is from Western Service Contract Corp. 1-800-543-5225. I did buy it through my dealer.

Just picked up the GP system for my 01 FX. It the wiring harness and the ECM. Also moto, blaze and speed program, or make your own. Cost was $585.00. Handle bar switching will be coming in the next 60 to 90 days, for a add on of $165.00.

Where did you get the GP system for your FX400? Does this also upgrade your computer too? I was told the FX computer was not programmable.
