Has anyone seen the latest ATV Action? They did a review on the Cannibal and they like it now. But they also said it was like night and day, and handled so much better than the FX400, they obviously don't do their research very well. They didn't note that the FX400's had the front ends upgraded and the handling is the same. Only diffrence comes in the EFI, cheaper shocks and wheels. The "2-stroke" feel is gone and the power is more linear. They did say if you could find an early production Cannibal, it was a good deal..... uh the early production Cannibals are basicly an FX400. They kinda contradict themselves, well atleast Cdale got some good press.

There are two different versions of the 02 Cannibal, the older ones are kind of like FX400 with the exception of a longer steering stem with a different angle, and some caster angle adjustments and better over all handling. The newer ones have the upgraded EFI, Arvin shocks, and GP Control. The only thing I would want from the newer ones is the GP Control but other than that I like my dale just the way it is... for a stocker anyways. I am gonna get different tires, and wider axle and a-arms, and sometime I'm getting some triple rate shocks with rezzies up front. Speakin of which, would any of you recommend the Stadium Series from Works?

The old Cannibal has different a-arms than the fx400 and different front shocks(less ajustability, still Ohlins). The old Cannibal and the FX400 have the same EFI system. The a-arms, tie rods, and ball joints are completely different on the ones added to the FX400s.

Sorry but the "old" Cannibals are nearly identical as the FX400's, they did get an anodized case cover, an extended shifter and chromed fastners but the wheels, tires, suspension and front ends are the same. The newer Cannibals got down graded suspension, wheels, tires but the EFI was upgraded to the Sagem 1000 ECM. The FX400 and "old" Cannibals had the tie-rods recalled along with complete front-end upgrades.

I'm not an expert here but got to like what I see.
From my point of view, atv action is a joke!!!!!!!
But realy It looks to me that thier all much like the FX. They all are the same quad, now thiers the new fuel injection, and they put the rev limit lower on the cannibal, but all in all thier all the same.
Now you will note many cost savings items that went into them, such as the wheels and shocks, but the blaze and speed have the same kind of savings idea's over the moto, but thier all a far cry from all the other production bikes.
I'm keeping a close I on these bikes as well, I feel cannondale will be the race bike I want when I line up to get mine next year.
Another comment I would have is, buy the one you want, I checked into say, get the cannibal and make it into the blaze, speed, or moto, your better off spending the extra cash, because it saves in the long run.
Hay, just my two cents, but got to like what you see!!!!!!!

Sorry but all of the Cannibals have the same a-arms in every way. They are different from the FX400. The FX400 was just a test for Cannondale, this should be considered their first year.

Check it out in November issue of Dirtwheels they say the Cannibal has different a-arms and less adjustable shocks. Read that review. The Cannibals have different a-arms to fix the FX400's handling, or at least this is what my dealer said(safe to say he would know!).

I will read the facts from a magazine, but not what THEY say about it. Take your 400ex(slow) and get out of the Cdale forum.

VWVR6, take your 400ex (awesome handling/just as fast on the track) and go ahead and stay here. I'm pretty sure that when they went from FX 400 to Cannibal that they made some caster angle adjustments and that the steering stem was longer. I might have been dreamin but I thought the FX 400 had adjustable a-arms unlike the Cannibal. Dirt Wheels tested one of the "older" Cannibals and said it was a big improvement in handling over the FX 400. Now I know that Dirt Wheels has some akward conclusions in there shootouts but this was between two Cannondales. I own one of the "older" Cannibals and I know when I go wide open it feels great and on personal practice track (even though it was very rough) it handled great! Corndog, you started acting a little normal but now you're just being as imature if not more than before. No one here is saying anything bad about the Dale so why are you getting so d@mn deffensive?
