Go to this web site for prices on all 4 C'dale quads:

www.rsperformance.net

You're local C'dale dealer may be higher and may be lower but this gives you a good idea of what they cost. Sure the Raptor and especially the 400EX are cheaper, but by the time you add all the necessary performance and handling mods to be somewhat comparable to the C'dale, you end up having more $ in them than the C'dales.

Dirt wheels mag did a shootout a few months back on all the sport quads, the FX400 was the C'dale that was used. It had the top speed of all the quads, including the Raptor. It seemed like it was radared at 72 or so but I don't remember exactly.

That 72 mph was in the 1/8 mile drag race, which the dale beat the others. I think I read somewhere that top speed on the FX400 was like 78mph. I would think with the upgrades on the new models that they would be a little faster than that.

It also depends on where they raced. In sandy conditions, it isn't going to grab as good as it would on pavement. I think they said the Raptor and DS 650 were at 72 mph. while the FX400 was at 75 mph. My Cannibal costed about $7200 out the door and with my trade in, I still owe $6300. I traded in a 2001 300ex and after I paid off the $2000 I still owed on it I was able to put around $900 down on the dale.

The only problem with the cannondale is when you go to adjust the valves you have to take the engine and disconnect everything. I also heard the clutches go pretty quickly and the chain slide is a problem too
