have you guys heard of this:
I am currently in talks with my dealer to get the new GP1000 ECU for my new cannibal. I am trying to get it for free, but that is beside the point. His mechanic is telling him/me that there has been four(4) recalls on the GP1000 and the ECu 500 is better, and i should stick with it. have you guys heard of this? Can anyone confirm/deny these allagation?

I am aware of a recall to replace the wiring harness with the early 1000's. Something about causing a short which could fry the ECU. Also know of the 'cold start' update to mapping of the early 1000's. Not really a 'recall'. Sounds like they are trying to get rid of you! I doubt the 500 is better, but i'm happy for now. yea, im happy too, just trying to see what I can get from the dealer.

 

The only recall was to install a jumper with some diodes into the wiring harness. Check out the Cannondale website, they have all recall and service bullitens posted so you can easily prove them wrong.

 

there was not a recall not the on the computer its self they add a wire in the harness to keep the surge down that could cause a stalling condition
