Boiling gas
#1
The past two times i have ridden my cannibal the gas has been boiling and the fan came on. When I got it the antifreeze level was low, and my dad just poured some more anifreeze into it without water(the antifreeze had all the right ingredients). Think the antifreeze could be the problem? My pipe gets really hot, it almost looks like the pipe is causing the gas to boil.

Be careful adding straight antifreeze. It should be added at a 50/50 mix with distilled water. Too much antifreeze may actually cause the motor to overheat. Are you running a high octane fuel, like 93 octane? Have you made any mods to the quad to affect it's performance? What makes you believe the gas is boiling?

yes gas can boil..its called vaporlock....it happens when the gas gets to hot in the gas line and produces vapor in the system...sence c/dales are fuel injected I cant see that happening to you...as for the antifreeze I hope your manual explains that?

that's what i thought, my dad just though he would be smart adding straight antifreeze the gas boils and you can hear it!! when you unscrew the cap gas vapor really comes out becuase of the pressure.

Corndog,
When you say you can hear Gas boil do you mean when the engine is running? You shouldn't open the gas cap when then engine is running. There is a return line on the underside of the front of the tank. The return line has pressurized fuel from the fuel regulator. If you open the cap when the machine is running there is the potential for fuel to spray out through the cap opening. Sounds like your machine is running extremely hot. Do you have a self bleeding coolant bottle? You can tell if you do if you have a hose coming form the top of the coolant bottle to the water pump cover. If you don't have one of these I would suggest that you bleed the cooling system. If the gas boils the machine will shut off. Does your machine shut off?
