Hey guys, anybody heard about Cannondale offering refurbished Cannibals for $5,000? Apparently there is some special incentive program Cannondale is offering their dealers to take in their 2001 models, refurbish them and sell them for $5K with a full warranty. There apparently is a catch, the dealers have to also take delivery of a 2002 Cannibal and either a Blaze or Moto.
Saw this info on another Cannondale forum on yahoo. For anyone about ready to buy a C'dale, you might ask your dealer about this. Maybe knowslalot will comment on this since he's at a Cannondale dealership.

A dealer I was at had a demo, 2001 title "new Cannibal" thew were giving a good deal on it. It has all the updates to include the new 1000 EFI. Found this out a week after I bought mine, I would of went for it.Anyone interested its in the Johnstown area.
I don't know all the details but it sounds like it's demo units possibly, maybe some "old" new units that dealers couldn't sell, and maybe even some trade ins. Not sure, but how could you go wrong buying one of these for $5K with a full warranty with all the updates!! That's a hell of alot less than what I paid for mine!

If I could only sell my ATC[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] Do you know what dealers will have them? Since there factory is in PA or CT(can't remember) most of the quads will probably go to east coast dealers, won't they?
It sounded like it was up to each dealer whether they wanted to participate in this program or not. You'll just have to call around and ask the dealers about it.

The models that Cannondale is referring to are the '01 FX400's that were sent back to Cannondale last fall for all the upgrades came back as Cannibals. New plastics and graphics along with the new upgrades. They still have the Ohlins mounted and is still basically an FX with Cannibal plastic. We have 4 of them right now. One still has the EC500 computer and three have the EC1000 computer. ALL kick butt.
These models are considered re-furbished because some were sold before being called back to Cannondale. Some were dealer demo units. Some were probally Cannondale's own test mules. AND some were never sold and only ridden for testing purposes.
Either way, you get alot of bang for the buck with these models.

Well cool!! So if anyone comes across vin 331, that's my old FX400 that Johnny Hale beat the holy crap out of before Honda of Tulsa shipped it back to Cannondale!!
