C-dales no bottom end
#11
Well I guess I'm qualified to talk about this issue since I owned the FX400, now own the Cannibal and I also own an '86 250R and the FX400 no way felt like the R. It never had that "light switch" type power band the 2 strokes are notorious for. Maybe my FX400 was different than all the other FX400's because it felt just as smooth on the bottom end as my Cannibal does. I honestly could not tell much difference from it and my current Cannibal.

What number was your old FX, Brian?
I really noticed a large difference & I was paying particular attention against my built 400EX with tons of bottom.
In fact, on the original FX, I could roll into the throttle and it would start accelerating. As it swept thru the RPM range and started to get into the power, it would then start lifting the front tires. It didn't want to lift them at all until the power "rolled on" - much like a 250 class 2 stroke.

I rode my Cannibal with the new moto map and HMF silencer for the first time the other day and it made a big difference in the bottom - mid power band. I can also tell there is more top end. But man it's loud!! After hearing the moto with it's FMF exhaust, I definitely like it's sound better, it's not near as loud it didn't seem like.
