My Dale is on its way. One of the refurbished ones. They charged me 400 bucks extra for the Ohlins shocks on front. I thought they came w/ Ohlins, but was told no they don't by the western staes rep Matt Ohren. I am sending them in to have triple or dual rates and adjustable rebound and compression so thats why I wanted them. Please help as I will print this thread and bring it to my dealer when my quad comes in next week......

No they shouldn't come w/ the ohlins. Those are used on the Speeds and the early Cannibals and when they needed to find a way to lower the price of the Cannibals, they went w/ Arvins. They won't use their expensive shocks on a refurbished quad. Don't pay the extra $400 for them... a friend of mine got some Works triple rates w/ rezzies for $450 so if I were you, I would do that instead. If you buy the ohlins and then upgrade them, you will end up spending $750 when you could just spend a little more money and buy some nice Elkas that are triple rate instead of dual.

To late the Dale's on it's way. I was told these are reburbished FX400's. The one's w/ all the problems. So how can they take off a used set of shocks and put them on a Speed. Big legal issues there even if rebuilt. This is why I'm puzzled..It will be 350 to totally re-do the Ohlins and I can have it done here by a local shop in one day....

Logically..

I'm sure everyone in the world has Axis, PEP, etc, but some people dont exactly have $2000 laying around to spend on suspension.

Sandgod,

Is the rear shock an Arvins? I was told that front and rear will now be Arvins shocks on the refurbs as well as the Cannibals.

Thanks.

The rear is an Arvin, but should be fully adjustable...

I wonder what they are doing with the Ohlins that where originally on the quads. I would think it would be cheaper to rebuild the Ohlins than put new Arvins on. They can't put the rebuilt shocks on a new quad can they?

Don't listen to Corndag, he doesn't know $hit.

It's def. worth the money to have the Ohlins. They perform very well. THe only reason you'll need better shocks, is if your an "A" rider. For anyone else, they'll do just fine.
